AWE USA 2026: XREAL and Longcheer Team Up to Launch Android XR's First AI-Powered Spatial Computing Glasses

AWE USA 2026, the premier annual event for the global XR industry, officially kicked off on June 15 in Long Beach, California. Under the theme "I, Spatial: Humans Empowered by Spatial AI," this year's conference sent an increasingly clear signal to the industry: XR is rapidly becoming the critical infrastructure that brings AI into the physical world. AI is no longer confined to screens—it is now beginning to perceive space, understand context, and interact with people. XR is emerging as the essential capability that anchors intelligent systems in the real world.

At this year's conference, XREAL officially unveiled XREAL AURA, purpose-built for the next-generation Android XR experience. The product integrates lightweight OST (optical see-through) wired XR glasses, Android XR, deeply embedded Gemini AI, and Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform—ushering in a new era of immersive spatial computing experiences. XREAL AURA features a split form factor, with its dedicated spatial computing unit co-developed by XREAL and Longcheer Technology to deliver simultaneous high performance and low power consumption, continuously elevating the XR glasses user experience.
The spatial computing unit inside XREAL AURA is the first-ever computing terminal for XR glasses built on the Android XR platform. Co-developed by XREAL and Longcheer Technology, the unit brings together ultra-slim metal system integration, active thermal management, multi-sensor fusion with RF integration, and end-to-end interactive module engineering—all fully developed and validated for mass production. The result is a suite of breakthrough performance metrics: high compute power, all-day battery life, low-latency transmission, and stable spatial positioning. Together, these capabilities deliver a proven, production-ready solution for split-form spatial computing terminals.

Earlier, Longcheer Technology, together with XREAL and other partners, signed a strategic cooperation agreement focused on the AI/AR industry chain, with the goal of building a strong moat for the sector through deep, coordinated collaboration across the value chain. The XR glasses computing terminal launched in partnership with XREAL is a direct reflection of Longcheer's deep integration with the Google Android XR ecosystem and its ability to deliver robust, production-ready hardware and software solutions.
As a globally leading provider of smart products and services, Longcheer Technology has cultivated deep expertise in the smart glasses space over many years, and its smart glasses business has become an important growth engine for the company. As AI edge devices such as smart glasses continue to evolve toward greater integration and higher computing power, Longcheer is strengthening its competitive edge on the AI edge side through strategic investments in SiP (system-in-package) technology and proactive adaptation to the Google Android XR ecosystem—positioning itself to deliver more innovative and reliable full-stack solutions to customers worldwide.
